Story
Born in Leander, Texas, Maples joined New Mexico United prior to the 2024 season.
In his first season with the Black & Yellow, Maples earned the club’s Player of the Season Award, after posting dominant numbers, including the team lead in clearances (141), blocks (30), aerial duels won (68), and outfield player minutes (3,060.) In addition to his defensive numbers, Maples netted three goals in 2024. Maples was selected as the club’s Newcomer of the Year and Most Valuable Player.
Prior to joining New Mexico United, Maples played two seasons with Houston Dynamo II of MLS Next Pro, where he served as team captain and made 51 appearances.
