Story
A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Akale came to New Mexico ahead of the 2024 USL Championship season, and was a key difference-maker out wide in his first year in the Black & Yellow, tallying four goals and a team-best five assists.
Akale was also second on the club in shots (42) and shots on target (28) in 2024. The winger scored a key goal in United’s first-ever home playoff match, tapping home the winner in the 85th minute of a 2-1 victory over rivals Phoenix Rising FC.
Prior to joining New Mexico United, Akale spent two seasons with South Georgia Tormenta FC, helping lead the club to the 2022 USL League One title. Akale played in the Villareal youth system as a young player.
