NEW MEXICO UNITED U-23’S KICK OFF 2023 SEASON THIS SATURDAY IN TAOS, TICKETS ON SALE NOW!

For the second straight season, New Mexico United U-23 will play their home matches across the state of New Mexico; bringing the Black & Yellow experience to communities around the Land of Enchantment. New Mexico United’s U-23 team will kick off the second season in their history – sponsored by New Mexico True – this Saturday, as they travel to Taos Eco Park for the first match of their 2023 season. The 2023 U-23 home schedule is below:

5/20, 7 PM – vs Boulder County United @ Taos Eco Park, Taos
5/27, 7 PM – vs Flatirons Rush @ High Noon Soccer Complex, Las Cruces
6/8, 7 PM – vs Salt City SC @ Angelo di Paolo Stadium, Gallup
6/10, 7 PM – vs Park City Red Wolves SC @ Hutchinson Stadium, Farmington
6/28, 7 PM – vs CISA @ Ivan Head Stadium, Santa Fe

ANY SEAT, ONE PRICE. UNITED ANNOUNCES ALL TICKETS FOR OPEN CUP THIRD ROUND JUST $19

New Mexico United is excited to announce that every ticket at Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park – from the front row to the club section and everywhere in between – will be just $19 when United play host to Phoenix Rising FC in the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on April 26th. Fans can get their tickets beginning Tuesday at 9:00 AM. United’s 2023 Open Cup run is presented by First Financial Credit Union.

“We want to give fans the opportunity to see the game in a way that they normally might not be able to,” said United Owner/CEO Peter Trevisani. “Making every ticket $19 for this exciting night is a way to open the door to new viewpoints and experiences, and a great opportunity for someone who has never seen a match before to come on out for the first time. Bring your friends!”

During United’s regular season matches, many sections of the stadium are $19, but this price point will include every seat in the stadium – including front row tickets, club seats, and more. Season ticket holders will have the opportunity to purchase their seats at the same price point through an offer in their SeatGeek app. Those seats will be held for a short time, before being released for purchase to the general public.

NEW MEXICO UNITED ANNOUNCES ACADEMY TRYOUT

(March 29, 2023) Albuquerque, NM – New Mexico United and the Somos Unidos Foundation are excited to announce that registration for tryouts for the United Academy are now open. The tryout will be held on April 18th at Kraemer Fields in Albuquerque. The team is looking for 5-7 players, (‘06 – ‘09) to fill out their 2023 roster. Registration is $40 + tax and fees (total $47) but will be refunded to any player who makes the team. Registration can be found at this link: https://newmexicoutd.cinchhq.com/programs/5501.

The New Mexico United Academy is entering its third year of existence. The team is one of just four in the entire nation to qualify for the USL Academy Playoffs in every year of the tournament’s existence and represents the most elite option for young players in the region. United’s Academy is also completely free for every player, scholar shipped through the Somos Unidos Foundation. Players travel across the nation, and even internationally, representing New Mexico. So far, players have also signed Academy contracts – allowing them to play in matches with the New Mexico United first team – five times in just two years.

NEW MEXICO UNITED REMAINS UNBEATEN IN PRESEASON, DRAWS 0-0 WITH COLORADO SPRINGS

New Mexico United finished their preseason unbeaten, drawing on the road with Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC by a 0-0 final score. United trotted out 17 players over the course of the match, which saw key chances from Amando Moreno, and substitute Cristian Nava each steered just wide of frame.

Alex Tambakis was excellent in goal, making three saves to earn his third shutout of the preseason. Moreno’s big chance came in just the second minute, as he headed a crossed ball across the mouth of goal and just off target. Nava – who subbed on in the 69th minute – had the best chance of the second half just six minutes later, hitting a left-footed strike from the top of the box that curled just wide of the post.

Fans can now purchase tickets for any of United’s 17 home USL Championship matches, to be played at Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park. New Mexico United kicks off their season on March March 18th at Miami FC. The first home match of the season is April 15th against San Diego Loyal SC. Kick-off is set for 7 PM.

NEW MEXICO UNITED TO HOST SUNDERLAND AFC IN INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY AT ISOTOPES PARK

New Mexico United is thrilled to announce that they will play host to legendary English club Sunderland AFC in an international friendly on July 19th. The Black Cats are one of England’s most-decorated clubs, having won the top-flight title six times, and the FA Cup twice.

The Black & Yellow and The Red & White will face off at Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park on July 19th, with kick-off set for 7:00 PM.

“Bringing an historic club like Sunderland AFC to New Mexico is a dream come true,” said New Mexico United Owner/CEO Peter Trevisani. “Sunderland embodies what it means to be a successful club for generations. As we strive to be a club for the next 100 years, we can learn so much from their drive, passion, professionalism, and staying power. We can’t wait to meet the Black Cats on the pitch, and show them what New Mexico is made of.”

This match will be the second international friendly in United’s five-year history. In 2019, New Mexico welcomed Cardiff City F.C. to the Land of Enchantment. That match – played at the UNM Soccer Complex – ended in a 1-1 draw, in front of thousands of fans, with Ken Akamatsu scoring the equalizer for United.

Tickets for this match will go on sale to the general public on March 17th, with season ticket holders able to make their purchases starting NOW, using THIS LINK.
