New Mexico United is excited to announce the signing of defender Anthony Herbert ahead of the 2024 season, pending league and federation approval. Herbert, who plays as a center-back, has played 32 matches in Finland across two seasons.
“We are excited to welcome Tony to the Black & Yellow,” said United Sporting Director Itamar Keinan. “His combination of size, athleticism, and talent will help make us a formidable opponent at the back. We can’t wait to see what he accomplishes in New Mexico.”
Prior to going pro in 2022, Herbert played collegiate soccer at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he played in 38 matches across two seasons, starting in 37 of them. Born in New York City, Herbert has represented the Trinidad and Tobago National Team at the U-15, U-17, and U-20 levels. His U-15 squad won the 2013 CONCACAF Championships.
