New Mexico United has signed midfielder Nicky Hernandez to a 25-day contract.
“I am excited to welcome a player of Nicky’s quality into a team and locker room that are already making huge strides under Eric Quill,” said United Sporting Director Itamar Keinan. “Nicky will bring another level of dynamism and distribution to this team, and we can’t wait for him to wear the Black & Yellow for the first time.”
Hernandez comes to United after a title-winning season in 2022 with San Antonio FC. He made 24 appearances in all competitions for San Antonio last year, and was among the team leaders with five assists. Prior to his time in San Antonio, Hernandez played two seasons with North Texas SC, and was coached by United Head Coach Eric Quill.
Hernandez is available immediately on the roster, and is eligible for selection in tomorrow’s road match vs El Paso Locomotive FC.
