The Somos Unidos Foundation and New Mexico United are thrilled to announce the launch of “United in Health,” a community-first initiative focused on improving the health of every New Mexican. The program will offer community resources in five key verticals – blood drives, physical movement/wellness, COVID-19 resources, vaccinations, and mental health resources – aimed at making New Mexico a better, healthier, and safer place.
The Somos Unidos Foundation will kick off the program in celebration of New Mexico United’s 2023 Opening Day with a Health and Wellness Fair at Los Duranes Community Center on Saturday, March 18, from 10 AM to 2 PM. The event will include a fun run for kids and adults, a vaccination station, health resources for families, and access to free community wellness partners.
“United in Health is focused on New Mexicans across the state – all ages and backgrounds – encouraging everyone to take positive steps in health and wellness in their own lives, for the betterment of the wider community,” said Somos Unidos Foundation Executive Director Chanel Wiese-Car. “New Mexicans are strongest when we come together. When we work side-by-side, we all win.”
The Somos Unidos Foundation is one of the community organizations represented in the New Mexico Department of Health’s Better Together Program – a collaborative cohort tasked with reaching residents of New Mexico with accurate pandemic information and providing access to COVID-19 vaccines.
